Trail Running

Did a 6 mile out and back at Griffith Park today. It was mostly on trails, relatively flat with a few hills. Here's the motion based link : http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/episode/view.do?episodePk.pkValue=660991

Some positives of trail running at Griffith Park :
- Softer impact on the joints (versus street running)
- Nice, shady, tree lined run. (Too bad it was 62 degrees and I'm fighting off a cold)
- Scenery ranges from running along the 5 freeway to a golf course to the front of the L.A. Zoo.

Some negatives of trail running at Griffith Park:
- Road apples. The trail is used by the horses there and you must keep your eyes scanning the road or else.
- Running alone there (especially if you're a girl) can be kinda scary. The trail winds around some secluded areas and bushes.
- My white Asics got dirty. I need to buy some trail shoes now.

It was a nice change of pace from the Rose Bowl. I'll add as one of my stored courses on my Garmin.

Next run : Wednesday 3 miles (I'm tapering my miles in prep for a possible 10k on Sunday).
