Another 9
Did 9.3 miles again at the Rose Bowl. This is the third of forth time at this distance. I was aiming for 9:30/miles. Took a Snickers Marathon (I think this is my pre-workout choice now) about 1.5 hours before exercise. It was sorta hot today....about 70 at my 6:00pm start time, so I didn't think I was going to be able to finish the 9 miles. Splits below:
Mile 1 : 9:28
Mile 2 : 9:07
Mile 3 : 9:18
Mile 4 : 9:32
Mile 5 : 8:58
Mile 6 : 9:06
Mile 7 : 9:17
Mile 8 : 8:56
Mile 9 : 8:55
Mile 0.25 : 2:14
Total : 1:24:54 (My fastest 3 laps around the RB so far)
Average pace : 9:10/mile
Average speed : 6.5
Total calories : 1646
Next run : Thursday 6 or 7 miles.
Unrelated running side note : saw Xmen3 on Monday. I thought it was ok, not as bad as all the reviews I was reading. A good, superficial, no storyline, summer movie if that makes sense at all. Of course, they hardly stuck to any of the comic book Xmen universe, but I didn't really expect them too anyways, this whole series has been about appealing to the non-comic book reading population, and they did a good job doing that.
Side note 2 : Kitty should have been played by a hotter actress in my opinion....same with Rogue. Beast was good, Colossus (one of my favorite characters) had like two lines, which I was disappointed in. They could have renamed the movie "Wolverine and His Scrub Mutant Buddies" and no one would have complained I think. I would have preferred other character development, but I guess they knew what they were doing to the tune of $122 million.

You need to run faster. You are way too slow! If you don't run faster you'll never be any good.
I hate you. LOL
I did 3 miles in 30:38 at the Rose Bowl on Sunday but this was after a 6 mile bike ride (2 minute transition from bike to running shoes). SO THERE!
3 miles in 30:39 which is a 10:13 min/mile pace at ave speed of 5.9.

I also forgot to mention that I ran barefoot.
Speaking of barefoot. As I was coming into the 3rd mile I ran past a guy coming toward me who was in khaki type shorts, a cowboy hat and no shirt. An older Spanish or Armenian guy who was already red from the sun. He was running BAREFOOT!!! And not on the grass. On the pavement!!! What a nut.

I've heard of barefoot training, but not on concrete. That's pretty crazy. Plus there's all that dog crap along the course, which makes it double crazier.
