Seven

Seven miles today at the Rose Bowl. My current nutritional supplement experiment is with Power Bar Gel....100 calories, 26g of carbs of strawberry-banana flavored goo. I took it one hour prior to running. I did a slow run today, trying to stay near 9:00/mile for seven. Here's the splits :

Mile 1 : 8:53
Mile 2 : 8:45
Mile 3 : 8:43
Mile 4 : 9:08
Mile 5 : 9:20
Mile 6 : 9:05
Mile 7 : 8:59

Total : 1:02:57

At the end I felt I could have gone another lap around the RB (3.1) but it was getting late (7:18PM when I ended). I'm not sure if the goo helped since I was running slower today since I was adding another mile to my usual 6. I did find out that the bikers do about 3.1 miles in 9 minutes over and over.....they kept passing me at the mile markers every 9 or so minutes.

Next up : Saturday or Sunday 6 miles.
